Where does all the Dark Green phlegm go, when you start taking antibiotics and it stops coughing up?

I started takin zithromax (z-pak) which is 5 days total, and you take two the first day. Im just on my first day of it, and already feel better. The previous day, and i should say weeks, i was coughing up dark green chunks of phlegm. I could notice that when it was in the back of my throat, it was causing me to get more sick unless i coughed it up.
